Akshay Bhatia, a name familiar to many in the golf world, made a simple yet powerful gesture to remember his friend, Grayson Murray, during the Canadian Open.
Bhatia and Murray had gotten close on the golf courses. Both North Carolina natives, they spent time together on the Korn Ferry Tour and this year found themselves playing full-time on the PGA Tour. Bhatia, just 22, and Murray, 30, both had their share of wins. Murray had clinched the Sony Open in January with an electrifying 39-foot birdie putt in a three-man playoff, a moment still fresh in many minds. Bhatia, on the other hand, had claimed his second Tour victory in April at the Texas Open, securing his spot in his first Masters.
